Edith M. Snell, 89, of Lewes, Del., formerly Montgomery County, Md., passed away peacefully Friday, March 1, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. She was born May 1, 1923, in Staten Island, N.Y., daughter of the late William and Edith (Flanagan) Klee.

Carole Ayn Butewicz, 66, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Old Bridge, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del.

K. Ruth Cooper, 90, formerly of Bethany Beach, Del., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Atlantic Shores Nursing Home in Millsboro, Del.

Cooper was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Charles L. and Adah Lingo Hart.

Timothy Edward Draper, 37, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., passed away suddenly on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del. He was born Oct. 14, 1975, son of John Lee Draper and Phillis G. (Ramsey) Draper-Watts.

James E. Gallons Jr., 74, of South Bethany, Del., and formerly of Claymont, Del., passed away suddenly Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del.

Joanne B. (Lougheed) Hannagan, 81, of Lewes, Del., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Hannagan was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Wilmington, Del., daughter of the late Charles R. and Ethel (Samluk) Lougheed. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hannagan, in 1987.

Madeleine Ann Shampine, 89, of Milford, Del., formerly of Lewes and Hadden Heights, N.J., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford.

Robert J. Showalter, 84, of Selbyville, Del., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. He was born in Mt. Joy, Pa., son of the late Alvin and Anna (Liebfried) Showalter.
He was a building contractor for many years and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Willard Simpson “Big Al” Jr., 61, of Frankford, Del., and formerly of Wheaton, Md., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. He was born in Olney, Md., son of Willard A. Simpson Sr. and Catherine Lucille (Musgrove) Simpson.

He had been a bricklayer with Cain Masonry for many years. Simpson was an avid Redskins and Terrapins fan.

Rose Theresa Walker, 85, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of the Candy Apple House in Sycamore Gardens in Newark, Del., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.

James Lee Willis Sr., 70, of Millsboro, Del., and formerly of Marcus Hook, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, in the loving care of his family, with the assistance of hospice care at his home.

Lowell H. Casto, 77, of Lewes, Del., formerly of Newark, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at his residence. He was born Nov. 27, 1935, in Nitro, W.Va., son of the late Willard and Virginia (Hood) Casto.

Rose Marie Dixon, 50, of Laurel, Del., passed away in the care of her family, at home, on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2013. She was born Dec. 18, 1962, in Lewes, Del., to the late James and Gladys Rayne Dixon.

Joan Marie Lomas, 84, of Milton, Del., passed away at her residence on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. She was born Monday, June 4, 1928, daughter of the late John J. and Alice (Lees) Minker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John J. Minker Jr.

James J. “Jim” Lyons Sr., 92, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Linwood, Pa., passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del.

Nancylee Moley, 78, of Frankford, Del., formerly of Bloomingdale, N.J., passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at her home.

Cecilia Rose Shary, 75, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Lancaster County, Pa., passed away at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Ronald L. Stephens, 78, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away at his home on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.

Thelma Marie Weibling, 92, of Lewes, Del., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at her home, with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Jacob L. and Pearl Marie (Willoughby) Stull.

Samuel Glorioso Wilson, 76, of Frankford, Del., formerly of Pasadena, Md., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.

Virginia C. “Ginny” Wright, 74, of Selbyville, Del., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del., surrounded by her loving family.

Charlotte L. Parsons, 77, of Millsboro, Del., passed away in the loving care of her family, at home, on Feb. 17, 2013. She was born in Clarksville, Del., on Jan. 22, 1936, to the late Charles E. and Nina E. Toomey Littleton. She was a high-school graduate, and in 1954 she married her husband, Richard Parsons, with whom she enjoyed 56 years of marriage and raised six children.

Marietta “Lolee” A. Cassese, 71, of Lewes, Del., formerly of Bergen County, N.J., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. She was born July 20, 1941, in Union City, N.J., daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Le Bert de Bar) Russo.

Margaret W. Stortz, 88, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, following a series of health issues. She was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Bayonne, N.J., the youngest daughter of William J. and Nancy B. Ward.

Henry Francis Fortna, 93, of Georgetown, Del., formerly of Lewes, Del., passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown. He was born Aug. 1, 1919, in Womelsdorf, Pa., son of the late Edward W. and Emma (Shoener) Fortna.

Richard G. Grundy, 82, of Ocean View, Del., passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. He was born Saturday, March 22, 1930, in Newark, N.J., son of the late Frederic and Margaret (Coburn) Grundy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Hancock, in 2001 and his brother Robert E. Grundy, formerly of Florida.

Earl H. Kinsey of Dagsboro, Del., formerly of York Haven, Pa., passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the age of 78.

Leona “Lee” Macrane, 76, of Milton, Del., passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, with her husband at her side, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. She was born Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Lloyd and Margarite (Melson) Wilkinson.

Barbara Ann Miller, 60, of Millsboro, Del., passed away in the loving care of her family, at home, on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013. Born May 5, 1952, in Lewes, Del., she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Nettie Carey Fisher. She was retired as a title searcher for the law firm of D. Stephen Parsons. She attended Hickory Hill United Methodist Church.

Therman B. Miller, 70, a beloved church leader, family man, hard worker and friend to so many passed away suddenly on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. He was born Sept. 24, 1942, in Seaford, Del., to the late Harry and Ann Jefferson Miller.
