Felicia J. Hickman, 82, of Lewes, Del., formerly of Wilmington, Del., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Harbor Health Care in Lewes, Del., She was born Nov. 19, 1930, daughter of the late John and Evelyn (Timberlake) Bullard.

Elsie B. Mallonee, 94, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Annapolis, Md., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.

Ronald Lee Perdue, 59, of Laurel, Del., passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at his home. He was born on April 13, 1953, son of the late Betty and Jim Perdue.

Jerry W. Smith of Millsboro, Del., passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, after a long battle with cancer, at his home, surrounded by his family and best friend, Steven Sharp.

Willis A. “Billie” Stevens, 81, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Stevens was born Jan. 2, 1931, to the late Durward and Mildred F. Gibson Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Debbie, Butch and Brad.

Basia Banks, 61, of Frankford, Del., formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, after a five-year battle with cancer.

Alice D. Bennett, 80, of Georgetown, Del., passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. Born June 2, 1932, near Elkton, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles Elmer Dean Sr. and Edna T. Green Dean.

Francis William “Frank” Carr, 70, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del.

Rodney D. Fothergill, 52, of Ocean View, Del., passed away on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del.

Fothergill was born June 25, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Raymond Fothergill and the former Glorie Rohr. He was a construction worker and spent most of his time working in the Delaware area.

James J. Haley Jr., 49, of Ridley Park, Pa., and formerly of New Castle, Del., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at the Paoli Regional Hospital in Malvern, Pa.

Haley graduated from St. Mark’s High School and the University of Delaware, and he was employed by TEVA Pharmaceuticals in Malvern.

James William “Bill” “Hammer” Hamilton, 57, of Ocean View, Del., passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at his residence. He was born Oct. 5, 1955, son of Betty Jordan Hamilton of Star, N.C., and the late Rev. James W. Hamilton.

Elaine Helen “Lena” Insley, 94, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, with her loving daughter by her side. She was born March 6, 1918, in Marshallton, Del., daughter of the late Ferdnand and Conchetta George.

Earl W. Martin, 92, of Livermore, Calif., and formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., Washington, D.C., Cheverly, Md., and Annapolis, Md., passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at his residence in Livermore. He was born April 28, 1920, in Philadelphia, son of the late Michael and Helena (Carney) Martin.

Lloyd W. “Mike” Melvin, 91, of Ocean View, Del., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at his residence. He was born Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1921, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Clarence T. and Alice (Eagan) Melvin.

Thelma H. Quillen, 95, of Berlin, Md., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Salisbury, Md., daughter of the late Lloyd and Katie (Truitt) Hickman.

Quillen had been a seamstress for the former Rombro Brothers Shirt Factory in Willards and the Powellville Shirt Factory for many years.

Jay Richard Schmitt Jr., 76, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Gettysburg, Pa., passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Evelyn Elizabeth “Betty” Warren, 87, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Born April 29, 1925, in Salisbury, Md., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Carolyn Davis Donaway.

Jay Richard Schmitt Jr., 76, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Gettysburg, Pa., passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Donald C. Risso, 74, of Bishopville, Md., formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Salisbury Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Salisbury, Md. He was born in Baltimore, son of the late Angelo and Anna Stalionis Risso.

Lois Jane Kriwer, 80, of Lewes, Del., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at her residence. She was born Monday, Jan. 4, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late James B. and Grace Mildred (MacElroy) Siemers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Kriwer Jr., in 2002.

Wilma Burbage, 89, of Frankford, Del., passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Fla., with her husband at her side.

Mary Ellen Carr, 69, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at her home.

Maude A. Daniels of Frankford, Del., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012. She was 78 years old.

Raymond John Hickman of Ocean View, Del., passed away at the age of 88 on Dec. 19, 2012, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh H. Hickman; his mother, Edna Shepherd Hickman; and his brother, H. Harbison Hickman.

Carl W. Jeffers, 87, of Selbyville, Del., and formerly of Perry Hall, Md., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, Md. He was born in Cumberland, Md., son of the late Lawrence L. and Bessie (Grady) Jeffers.

Richard O. “Rich” Magee Jr., 46, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., passed away as a result of an automobile accident on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, in Rehoboth Beach. Magee was born April 30, 1966, in Lewes, Del., son of Frances (Smith) Magee of Lewes and the late Richard O. Magee Sr. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Odell Magee.

Earl W. Martin, 92, of Livermore, Calif., and formerly of Philadelphia, Pa, Washington, D.C, Cheverly, Md., and Annapolis, Md., passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at his residence in Livermore. He was born April 28, 1920, in Philadelphia, son of the late Michael and Helena (Carney) Martin.

Margaret M. Meyer, 78, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at her home in Lewes, Del. She was born Dec. 3, 1934, in Jersey City, N.J., daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Nies) Caulfield.

William Webster “Bill” Rich, 88, of Lewes, Del. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at The Oaks of Carolina in Raleigh, N.C. He was born May 17, 1924, son of the late Webster C. and Anne (Rutherford) Rich. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria (Marrone) Rich, in May 2008.

Thomas Lee Stubbins, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Unit at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del. He was born April 10, 1927, son of the late William and Matilda (Bransby) Stubbins.
