Barbara Mary Decker, 80

Barbara Mary Decker, 80, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Ridley Township, Pa., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at home. She retired as a bookkeeper from Collingdale Millwork, where she was employed for 15 years, and she was also formerly employed with Tollins Furniture Co., for 18 years. She was a member of Mariner’s Bethel Church in Ocean View and was part of the Dorcas Circle at the church. She enjoyed being around her family and also loved gardening.

Decker was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph M. and Florence (Deamer) Prochester; and her loving husband of 53 years, George W. Decker. She is survived by her son, Dennis C. Decker Sr. and his wife, Joan L., of Ridley Park, Pa.; two grandsons, Dennis C. Decker Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Woodlyn, Pa., and Brian M. Decker and his wife, Juli, of Swarthmore, Pa.; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Colin, Cameron and Allison; two sisters, Norma Donaway of Ocean View and Jean Psonak of Boothwyn, Pa.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mariner’s Bethel Cemetery, Ocean View. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in her name to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
