BREAKING NEWS: Beebe checking visitor IDs in wake of threats to doctors

Beebe Medical Center representatives on Monday afternoon notified the public that visitor IDs were being checked after a former patient allegedly threatened two physicians affiliated with the hospital through a telephone message that was left sometime during the weekend and received on Monday morning.

Although they said the individual in question was in police custody as of late Monday morning, Beebe Medical Center heightened its routine security policies and procedures, had only two entrances currently open to the public and was checking IDs of all visitors prior to issuing visitor badges.

“We consider all threats against patients and staff to be taken very seriously and we have secured entrances to the hospital and to our other locations on this campus,” according to Ron Webster, director of security for the medical center.
