Catherine ‘Cass’ T. (Iorio) Hamilton, 82

Catherine “Cass” T. (Iorio) Hamilton, 82, of Long Neck, Del., formerly of Aldan, Pa., passed away at home on Sunday, July 22, 2012.

Born Jan. 24, 1930, in Sicklerville, N.J., Hamilton was a member of Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro, Del., the Columbiettes and the Red Hat Lady Bugs. She enjoyed gardening, reading, doing crossword puzzles and taking care of her beloved cats.

Hamilton was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Theresa (LaGrotta) Iorio, and her husband, Thomas J. Hamilton, in 1979. She is survived by her four children, Michael Hughes and his wife, Peggy, Kathy Kratchman and her husband, Sheldon, Diane Hughes and Frank Hughes and his wife, Lisa; five grandchildren, Stacey, David, Frankie, Andrew and Shannon; two sisters, Jean Monteith and her husband, Jim, and Terri Judas and her husband, Steve; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for Friday, July 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro, Del., where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. Interment was to be private. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
