Coleta M. Dorey, 75

Coleta M. Dorey, 75, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown, Del.

Dorey was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Frankford, Del., to the late Harry E. and Eva (Justice) Townsend Sr. She was deeply devoted to her family and worked out of her home as a seamstress. Dorey enjoyed doing floral arrangements and collecting porcelain dolls. She was a member of Hickory Hill United Methodist Church and a past member of Carey’s United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, Dorey was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest “Lee” Dorey in 2010, and a brother, Richard A. Townsend. She is survived by three children, June M. Edwards and her husband, David, Joyce M. Dukes and her husband, Arthur Dukes Jr., and Dave W. Dorey and wife, Tammy; two sisters, Edna Mae Steele and Eileen Reynolds; a brother, Harry E. Townsend Jr.; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was scheduled for Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Melson Funeral Services in Long Neck, Del., through which condolences maybe sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com. Interment was to follow at Carey’s Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice Center; 100 Patriots Way; Milford, DE. 19963.
