Wouldn’t it be nice if things were All About U?
Cathy Lynn Lynch’s new Ocean View salon promises to do just that — focus on your needs.
The salon’s location, across from Mike and Paul’s Auto Repair on Route 26, has been consistently swapping businesses in recent years. The once-home, then-video shop, then-Bonsai store has once again been completely transformed. But Lynch hopes that her new business, All About U, will be the final switch for the location.

All About U has plenty of Aveda products for all.
Lynch, who at one time renovated houses, refinished the hardwood floors, moved walls, redid the bathrooms and retextured the ceilings. Metallic earthy tones combine with oriental décor to create an eclectic atmosphere that complements the quirky nooks of the salon.
Since it is an Aveda concept salon, Aveda products line the hallway into the main extent of the salon and are available to be sampled.
All About U opened in April and Lynch said the timing couldn’t have been better. Business was so good in the summer months, she said, “We didn’t have enough help.” Now, she said, business has calmed, she has obtained more employees and the salon is ready for the masses. “Now we’re on a roll,” Lynch said.
Lisa Baum, a stylist from All About U, said she really enjoys working at the new location. “Cathy and I used to work together at a previous shop,” she said. “It’s great to be working together again.”
Barbara Coffman said she had been coming to the salon as a customer ever since it opened in the spring. “The people here are wonderful,” said Coffman. She said that, although she had only been coming for a short time, “It feels like a family.”
Lynch, who has been a stylist for 18 years, said she loves the relationships with people that her job fosters, but “I also am concerned about their health and I care about the world,” she said.
“The biggest part of the salon is health,” Lynch said. She said it is something she has always focused on and wished to bring to others.
All About U offers a full line of facials, botanical skin resurfacing, acne relief treatments and therapy, and body treatments to make people feel good. Lynch said she also has hopes to teach classes on natural healing at the salon at night, starting this fall.
Health is also one of the reasons Lynch was so drawn to have an Aveda concept salon. Aveda is a mission-driven company that provides all natural products and aspires to give back to the environment. One of the goals of Aveda is to combine beauty and well-being while congruently giving back to the Earth and society.
Lynch said she was always attracted by Aveda’s principle. Owning the salon seemed to be the opportunity for her to combine her talent with her ideals. With the closest competing Aveda location in Rehoboth Beach, Lynch said All About U is one of the few places in the local area where these products can be found.

The salon is open Monday through Saturday from 10 to 6 p.m. Lynch said walk-ins are accepted, but she prefers appointments to make sure there are enough stylists available.
