George R. ‘Rob’ Landon Sr., 49
George R. “Rob” Landon Sr., 49, of Georgetown, Del., passed away suddenly Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Born Oct. 30, 1962, in Washington, D.C., Landon had worked as a self-employed contractor for many years and, for the past four years, was also the owner and proprietor of the Overstuffed Sandwiches near Cool Spring outside of Lewes, Del. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed many outside activities, including fishing, deer hunting, riding his Harley, football — he was a Redskins fan, NASCAR and coaching many different sports. Landon was a member and usher at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Georgetown and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus in College Park, Md.
Landon is survived by his wife of 24 years Kathryn R. “Katie” Landon; son, Robby Landon Jr. of Millsboro, Del.; three daughter, Tina May of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and her husband, Toby, Amber Landon of Milford and Abbie Landon of Georgetown; his parents, Skip “Pop” and Kathy Landon of Dunkirk, Md.; three brothers, Frank Landon of Tallahassee, Fla., Daniel Landon, and his wife, Jodi, and Brian Landon, all of Dunkirk, Md.; a sister, Mary Linebarrier of Daytona, Fla., and her husband, John; five grandchildren, Jasmine Davidson, Kaylee Landon, Tyler Davidson, Austin May and McKenna May; brothers-in-law Jody Johansen of Cleveland, Ohio, and Christian Johansen of Ocean City, Md.; and a sister-in-law, Elise Milliken of Rutland, Mass.; his mother-in-law, Lucille Johansen of Ocean City, Md.; his biological mother, Mary “Peggy” Pepin; and many, many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for Aug. 28, 2012, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Georgetown, Del. Interment was to be private, at a later date. Arrangements were by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium in Georgetown, through which condolences may be sent online at www.parsellfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested, to Bikers Against Drunk Drivers; 2665 North Atlantic Ave., Suite 126; Daytona Beach, FL 32118, or to a family trust that will be announced at a later date.
