Harold J. ‘Buck’ Gray Sr., 73

Harold J. “Buck” Gray Sr., 73, of Bishopville, Md., passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.

Born in Bishopville, Gray was a Standardbred racehorse driver and trainer for many years. He had also been a paddock judge at Ocean Downs for 14 years and worked part time at the Casino at Ocean Downs. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and Zion United Methodist Church in Bishopville. He had been a member and a director for 18 years of the Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association.

Gray was preceded in death by his parents, Searus and Edna (Tubbs) Gray. He is survived by his wife, Carol E. Gray; a son, Harold J. “Bucky” Gray Jr.; a daughter, Susan Gray; and a sister, Helen Massey, all of Bishopville; a granddaughter, Cameron Ellen Gray; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was scheduled for Friday, March 16, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, where friends may call beginning at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bishopville Vol. Fire Co., Ambulance Fund, c/o Bank of Ocean City; P.O.
