Joan H. Diamond, 72

Joan H. Diamond, 72, of Lewes, Del., passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at home. surrounded by her loving family.

Born Sept. 20, 1939, in Newark, N.J., Diamond was co-owner and vice president of First Atlantic Mortgage Services of Lewes for many years. Her hobbies included basket-making, sewing, swimming and reading.

Diamond was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Clementine (Kirchner) Hardman. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Patrick J. Diamond of Lewes; two daughters, Nancy Schroeter of High Bridge, N.J., and Gayle Diamond and her husband, Michael, of Lopatcong Township, N.J.; grandchildren Erin Schroeter and Michael P. Diamond; a brother, Alan Hardman and his wife, Barbara, of Toms River, N.J.; and a sister, Linda Wyglendowski and her husband, Thomas, of Rehoboth Beach, Del.

A memorial service was scheduled for Friday, March 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 2nd and Market streets in Lewes, Del., with arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium in Lewes, Del. Interment was to be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice; 100 Patriots Way; Milford, DE, 19963.
