Joseph F. Wilkinson, 59, of Georgetown, Del., passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, in Harrison House, Georgetown. He worked for the State of Delaware, Woodbridge School District, Bridgeville, Del., as a custodian. He was well loved and devoted himself to helping the handicapped boys at the Salvation Army Home. He loved racing and football; he was a Jeff Gordon fan and Redskins fan, and he loved Dolly Parton.
Wilkinson was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Warren Wilkinson. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Ann Jewell Wilkinson of Georgetown; a brother, Charles Wilkinson of Millsboro, Del.; two sisters, JoAnn Darling of Sharptown, Md., and Dusty Lucas of Texas; and a very close nephew, Joseph F. Willey of Seaford, Del.
Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, with interment in Carey’s Cemetery, near Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1138 Parsons Road, Salisbury, MD 21801; or the Harrison House, 110 W. North St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
