Paul Jerrold-Jones, 85

Paul Jerrold-Jones, 85, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009. An Army Air Force veteran of World War II, after the war he attended college in Phoenix, Ariz., where he earned his degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for the California division of Beckman Instruments for 37 years and had many patents for his engineering developments. He bred, raised and showed cocker spaniels for many years.

In addition, he enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture; but most of all he was an avid golfer since childhood. He had always wanted to spend his retirement years golfing, and he was able to do so when he relocated to the area 20 years ago. He was a member of Grace U.M. Church in Millsboro and the Millsboro Lions Club.

Jerrold-Jones was preceded in death by his father, William Jerrold-Jones; his mother, Bessie Jo Kimble; two brothers, Russell and Richard Jerrold-Jones; and a sister, Bea Wells. He is survived by his wife, Isabel Jerrold-Jones; his son, David Jerrold-Jones of San Clemente, Calif.; his daughter, Barbara Rich of Millsboro; his sister, Kay Baker of Easton, Pa.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for immediate family were to be held Monday, June 15, 2009.
