Ronald C. ‘Ron’ Lippincott, 65

Ronald C. “Ron” Lippincott, 65, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at his home at the Retreat at Love Creek in Lewes, Del.

Born May 25, 1947, Lippincott attended Rutgers University for his undergraduate studies and earned his doctorate in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He worked for the governor of New Jersey before beginning his teaching career, most of which was spent at the University of Baltimore, where he specialized in healthcare and organizational management. Later, he worked as a budget analyst for the Maryland Department of Budget and Management, Office of Capital Budgeting, retiring in 2009.

Lippincott is survived by his life-partner, Christine Eggert; his mother, Jane Rulon of New Jersey; his half-brother, Donald Rulon, and half-sister, Joan Johnson, both of New Jersey.

Lippincott was remembered as a loving and caring partner. He was a passionate reader of foreign affairs, domestic politics and detective novels. He was continually amazed by what he learned through reading, regarding science, mathematics, politics, sociology, or simply what he observed in the world.

Lippincott also enjoyed the simplicity and love of his loyal dog Dickens and zany cat Oliver.

A memorial service was to be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements were by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium in Lewes, Del., through which condolences may be sent online at www.parsellfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial donations to Lippincott’s favorite charities: Delaware SPCA, Sussex Chapter; 22918 DuPont Blvd.; Georgetown, DE 19947, or Doctors Without Borders; P.O. Box 5030; Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030.
