Run to benefit Cape school district set for April 18
The Second Annual Run for Health & Education is scheduled to take place Sunday, April 18, at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes. The event, to include a 1-mile walk, a 5K run and a 10K run, will benefits the students and teachers in the Cape Henlopen School District through grants and scholarship opportunities.
Run for Health & Education is sponsored by the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation (CHEF) together with Beebe Medical Center, Edis Corporation, Redden Engineering, RW Contractors and King’s Homemade Ice Cream.
The 5K and 10K runs cost $15 and $20 respectively if participants register by April 16. Registration on the day of the event for each run costs an additional $5. Registration for the 1-mile walk costs $10.
Register online at active.com, or register on the day of the race from 8 to 8:50 a.m. For mail-in registration, make checks to CHEF 10k/5k and send to Seashore Striders, P.O. Box 99, Nassau, DE 19969. T-shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered runners and walkers. Children are welcome, even babies in carriages. Gift vouchers donated by local businesses will be available while supplies last.
CHEF’s motto is “A Recipe for Success – parents, educators and community – all ingredients essential to a child’s education.”
