William E. Ellingsworth, 85

William E. Ellingsworth, 85, of Georgetown, Del., passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.

Born in April 13, 1926, in Millsboro, Del., Ellingsworth retired after 30 years of service as a truck driver and dispatcher at Townsend’s. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He was known as a big Jeff Gordon fan, who enjoyed NASCAR and fishing.

Ellingsworth was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Ethel Revel Ellingsworth, and a sister, Ruth, in childhood. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nettie W. Ellingsworth of Georgetown; a son, Gerald L. Ellingsworth of Long Neck, Del.; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved feline friend Lucky.

A funeral service was scheduled for Feb. 12, 2012, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del., officiated by the Rev. Carol Svecz, with interment at Millsboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations to the American Cancer Society; P.O.
