They braved nearly 100-degree temperatures, learned some new carpentry skills and endured the curious gazes of many a beach-bound passerby. But, most importantly, they got the job done on a day that was anything but conducive to working outside on the hot pavement.

John Rishko, local business owner and long-time Rehoboth Beach resident, has joined the real estate team of Barrows and Associates of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty, located at 330 Rehoboth Avenue in downtown Rehoboth Beach.

Figures recently released by the Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAoR) show some encouraging signs for southern Delaware’s real estate markets, as the United States continues to rebound from the worst economic downtown in nearly a century.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has moved its Ocean View Parkway rental operations into their existing Sunrise Court sales office. The Sunrise sales office, located at 39682 Sunrise Court in Bethany Beach, enables both the rental and sales departments to continue growing their teams, where the rental team had outgrown the Ocean View Parkway office capabilities, representatives said.

John and May Shanaphy of the Long Neck office of Keller Williams at the Beach were recently named as Top Listing Agents for May, and Nick Varrato of the Keller Williams Millsboro office was named Top Selling Agent for the same month.

The increase was for the month of January 2010 vs. the same month in 2009. Holloway said it was a significant increase and indicates that the real estate market is continuing to grow.
